to attempt to avoid the surgery, it was not successful. I had the surgery and completed 6 more months of physical therapy. While I continued with my at home exercises, I did regain mobility, limited strength but was still in pain.
I started physical therapy again in January of 2019 for 6 months for my knee and then my shoulder. Same results, even though I did complete all of my home exercises. I have been diagnosed with osteoarthritis in my knee, neck and back. At this point I realized that I needed someone to work on my entire body, not parts in isolation. I did some research and found Age Well Fitness in October of 2019. I had my first consultation in late October and have continued to see Bernie twice weekly since then. I have seen so much improvement in the 3 months I have been working with her. I can once again sleep on my right shoulder, something I haven’t been able to do since 2016! My strength has improved in my arm and shoulders. My knee pain has subsided greatly.
Bernie comes each time with a plan for the day already in place, but based on my reports of how I am feeling, immediately will make changes to meet my individual needs of the day.
I could go on and on about how knowledgeable she is in her field and how much she has helped me, but I would be remiss if I didn’t also mention how great of a person she is. She is positive, upbeat and makes working with her a joy while I am pushing myself with her encouragement.”
